Trained as a painter and sculptor, he was captivated by India’s living metalworking traditions on a visit in 1989 and established a design studio and workshop there that he still leads today. Working alongside skilled artisans, he shapes each piece largely by hand using time-honored techniques such as sand-casting and hand-forging, so no two are ever exactly alike.
